In June of 2022, now Bishop Emeritus Thomas Olmsted of the Diocese of Phoenix ordained several men to the priesthood at Ss. Simon and Jude Cathedral in Phoenix, AZ. One of those priests is now Fr. Harold Escarcega, depicted here, to whom this piece was gifted. This drawing illustrates the beautiful, central moment when the bishop lays hands on the deacon, ordaining him a priest.
