This drawing attempts to explore the theme of depression and darkness through juxtaposition. The subject matter portrays a distressed figure in a dark state of mind, yet the figure is depicted simply with an emoji crying face and teardrops. Though this seems to take away from the severity of the matter, in a world where emojis are so frequently utilized, this is sometimes how emotions and human conditions are portrayed, and we cannot see the black and white reality behind the vibrant icons.
