Through our deeds we showcase the fruits we hold in our hearts. As such, others will come to know the type of person we are simply through our works. Therefore, we ought to take care of what our hearts are like in order to, hopefully, produce good fruits and deeds.

This painting attempts to display a literal illustration of holding the Fruits of the Holy Spirit, by virtue of the presence of God in one's heart. This girl possesses these fruits and wants to be known by them, as seen by her hand gently holding a string of handmade bottles that contain the nine fruits: gentleness, faithfulness, kindness, goodness, love, patience, self-control, peace, and joy. Though she is physically presenting these fruits, her hand also represents her heart and what is held inside it. Each bottle is a custom expression of each fruit in a visible and tangible way through the color, materials, movement, and other decorative elements used. Several bottles are even literal depictions: "faithfulness" contains an angel above a cloud as the angels are faithful to the worship of God, "self-control" contains a layer of oil that is evenly balanced on blue water, and "love" contains red roses. This piece also hints at the connection between the "Fruits of the Holy Spirit" and "By their fruits you will know them." In this way, now that we see the fruits she holds, we can also imply what kind of person she is because of them.
