This drawing was commissioned as a gift for former director of the Marriage and Respect Life Office of the Diocese of Phoenix, Mike Phelan. The gift was given to him from the Marriage and Respect Life Office team, who collaborated in designing the original coat of arms themselves as a graphic illustration, incorporating various colors and symbols that had a special connection and meaning to Phelan and his work at the Diocese over the past several years. I was then given the digital image, which I used to create a colored pencil illustration.
